How Much Does It Cost To Marry A Filipina – Costs Explained In Small Details

Whether you do it online or in real life, finding a beautiful Filipina will take your life to a new level. Assuming that she is just your type, you two have met and everything works fine, the next step is inevitable – a wedding.

Now, how much does it cost to marry a Filipina?

In an ideal case, both parts would share the costs. You should live together, have a common bank account and feel like family already. But then, what are the costs you should expect before the final step of your relationship?

Generally speaking, a wedding is as pricey or inexpensive as you want it to be. It can range anywhere between $800 (for a really basic wedding) and $5,000 (for a more extravagant one with an upper class Filipina).

To help you make a better decision, here are some of the things you need to take into consideration when marrying a Filipina woman.

But before you continue. Make sure you read our blogpost on how to find amazing Filipina girls in Manila!

Dressing up

The wedding gown is the most expensive thing to consider here. A really good one from a reputable store (not a designer store) will cost just under $1,000. You can also find cheaper options at good quality standards.

As for your suit, it should not cost more than $200 – high quality, not designer.

Remember that most people will look at her dress, rather than your suit. Just make sure it fits like a glove.

Some men also choose to pay for the bridesmaids’ dresses. Most Filipinas have three bridesmaids and a good dress will cost between $100 and $200.

Visa

Before you travel make sure you get your visa sorted. A good visa service agency is a must-have and therefore I highly recommend VisaHQ for your next journey. This agency is also specialized in providing visa’s for your Pina loved ones for the US, EU and many other countries. Perfect!

Religious ceremony

If your bride is Catholic, you cannot avoid the church. Church costs vary widely from one island and region to another. A nice church in a metropolitan area will cost about $500 to $600 for the ceremony.

If she comes from a small town or a village, you are lucky. Costs can go down to half of that, depending on the facility.

It is worth noting that most churches in big cities are air conditioned, so you, your bride and your guests will not have to sweat too much. Things could be different in small towns or the countryside.

Floral arrangements

Floral arrangements are part of every wedding. But then, you got more. The bride also needs a bouquet. Bridesmaids often have their own flowers too. Altogether, the price will go up to around $800.

Again, this kind of budget involves quality flowers from reputable florists in big cities. Prices will be much smaller in towns.

Also, when it comes to flowers, you do not necessarily require designer shops – just make sure you find a florist who knows what they are doing.

Catering arrangements

This is one of the aspects that require high quality – no need to go cheap here. If the food is bad, your guests will remember it. In fact, this is the main thing they will remember about your wedding.

Furthermore, the food is probably the most important expense, so choose it wisely. At this point, it depends on how many guests you have. If you want a massive wedding with 600 guests, you better get ready to spend.

If you want a basic one with 150 guests, your costs for a quality caterer will go up to less than $2,000.

Venue

The venue is the second most important thing to consider after the food – another thing that people will remember. A couple of decades ago, prices were quite challenging because there were only a few good places – the rest were just random.

These days, things have changed. There are plenty of good looking venues with all kinds of amenities, so prices are more stable.

Expect to pay just over $1,000 for one of the big reputable venues in the Philippines.

Photographer

When compared to the western world, photographers are proportionally more expensive than most other things. There is no better way to capture the essence of a wedding.

Plus, many photographers come with their own videographers too.

Costs may vary – make sure you always check out some previous work and not just the last couple of projects. A general package with some of the best photographers in the Philippines will cost you $1,500 to $2,000.

It is important to know that you can also find professional photographers with years of experience for less than $1,000. Just shop around and have your girl ask her friends for recommendations too.

Wedding cake

There is one rule when it comes to the wedding cake. It has to look good. It has to be the kind of cake that everyone wants to take a picture of. These days, couples tend to become more daring with their preferences – funny cakes, alien, zombie or farm cakes.

If you want a basic, tall, good looking cake, you should expect to pay around $500. If you want a funky one with all kinds of unusual requests, expect to pay double than that.

Wedding rings

Prices for gold rings are similar all across the world. If you want a two tone ring – white and yellow gold, you will have to pay about $1,000 for both rings. Classic bands are cheaper though. Besides, they do not look so flashy, so they represent a more traditional choice.

There are other things you need to consider for a wedding:

  • Musicians
  • Souvenirs
  • Invitations

Keep in mind that the honeymoon is just round the corner. Plus, always have some extra for unexpected situations.

Final words

As a short final conclusion, marrying a Filipina will cost you a bit, but it is worth it. Generally speaking, a normal quality wedding in the Philippines will cost around $4,000. A top notch one with lots of guests and designer stuff will go up to $5,000.

If you get married in the countryside or she is not too pretentious, you can get away with half of that.

On another note, everything will be cheaper if she comes from the upper class and her family also decides to contribute – quite common in the Philippines.
